NPP and NDC have destroyed Ghana football – Willie Klutse

Former Black Stars and Technical Director of Inter Allies, Willie Klutse has expressed his dislike over the involvement of the two major political parties in the country-NDC and NPP.

According to the former player, the Black Stars are unable to win the AFCON trophy for years because of the political interference.

The four-time champions were seeking to end their 37-year wait for continental success, having won their last title in 1982 but they were knocked out by Tunisia on Monday evening in the on-going AFCON 2019 tournament in Egypt.

Speaking to Odiasempa Kwame Oware on Happy FM’s ‘Wamputu Sports’, Mr Klutse identified

“If we follow NDC and NPP, we won’t win any trophy because none of these people want the other to win anything for the country so they pray against the team; because they are not in power. These two parties have destroyed our football. They should leave the national teams especially the Black stars alone”.

We have the “bring him down “ mentality and until we stop mixing politics with football, we won’t win anything and we will continue wasting our money .Our ministers always make themselves GFA president during tournaments.Attending training , calling the shots and giving instructions like they are coaches”- he added.

“People are in Egypt with no technical knowledge to offer the team . They are there fighting over money. From the GFA to the ministry. They don’t care if we win the trophy or not because they’re just thinking about the money they’ll be getting”.

Tunisia claimed victory over the Black Stars after a dramatic shootout which saw Caleb Ekuban’s penalty saved. The game was decided on spot-kicks after it finished 1-1 after extra-time.The team is expected to arrive in the country from Egypt tomorrow.
