The Berekum East Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Kwaku Kankam, has vowed to revamp the party’s support base in the constituency following setbacks in recent elections.
Speaking in an interview after the NPP’s national delegates’ conference, Chairman Kankam said he would work closely with the party’s leadership to implement the newly approved motions aimed at strengthening the party’s structures and unity.
He blamed the party’s poor performance in Berekum East on low voter turnout, revealing that over 15,000 registered members failed to cast their ballots. He promised to re-engage the grassroots and win back disinterested members ahead of future elections.
Mr. Kankam also pledged to resolve internal conflicts and cautioned party members against posting insults and divisive content on social media platforms, warning that such behavior fuels tension and damages party cohesion.
