NPP Decides: Carlos Ahenkora gets the nod from Tema West delegates to do more

Characteristic of every election are upsets and victories, some incumbents have fallen in the just ended NPP primaries, however, Carlos Ahenkra the incumbent Member of Parliament for Tema West constituency and the Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry is one of the fortunate MPs to retain their seat.

Carlos Ahenkora proved his supremacy with a whopping five hundred and ninety-three (593) votes, with activist of the party and the Assembly Member for the Sakumono Estate Electoral Area, Mr Kwasi Poku Bosompem, garnering an abysmal one hundred and seventy-seven (177) with the third contender staff of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), Mr Keku Armquasi-Armuzuah. with seventy-six votes (76).

Carlos Ahenkora will battle it out with Dr Raphael Kwesi Sarpong Tuffour the NDC’s candidate for Tema West.
A total of three hundred and seventy-four (374) aspirants contested in one hundred and sixty-eight (168) constituencies. Out of the number, three hundred and twenty-five (325) are men and fifty-one (51) women. Sixty-seven (67) of the aspirants are contesting unopposed and would be acclaimed by delegates of the party at the various constituencies.

Voting ended at 1:00pm with counting currently ongoing around the country.
