The Managing Director of Ghana Post, Bice Osei Kuffuor, widely known as Obour, has faced defeat in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries for the Asante Akyem South constituency in the Eastern region.

The incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Kwaku Asante-Boateng, managed to secure a convincing victory, securing 522 votes, reaffirming his position as the preferred choice among party delegates.

The competition in the primary was notably intense, with Obour facing a challenging political landscape. Despite his notable contributions to the Ghanaian music industry and his role as Managing Director of Ghana Post, Obour failed to garner enough support from party members.
