The Germany branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is grieving the sudden passing of Ernest Yaw Kumi, former Member of Parliament for Akwatia, who died after a brief illness.
In a heartfelt statement signed by Communications Director, Nana Osei Boateng, NPP Germany paid tribute to the late MP, describing him as “a true patriot” whose unwavering dedication, humility, and hard work made a lasting impact on his constituency and Ghana as a whole.
“His sudden departure has created a painful void not only within our party, but in the hearts of all who believed in his mission of public service,” the statement read.
The group extended sincere condolences to Mr. Kumi’s family, the people of Akwatia, and the entire NPP community, encouraging them to find comfort in the remarkable legacy he leaves behind.
“May his soul rest in perfect peace, and may God strengthen us all as we mourn this great loss,” it concluded
Tributes continue to pour in across the country, with many reflecting on Kumi’s contributions to Ghana’s democracy and development during his short but impactful time in Parliament.
