The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has summoned all members who have declared their intention to contest in the party’s upcoming presidential primaries for a joint meeting with key leadership organs, as preparations for the 2028 elections gather momentum.
In a statement dated Tuesday, June 24, 2025, and signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party announced that the meeting will involve the presidential aspirants, the National Steering Committee, and the National Council of Elders.
It is scheduled for Thursday, July 3, 2025, and is expected to address issues of mutual concern within the party.
Meanwhile, the party has referred its Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye, to the National Disciplinary Committee.
He is accused of defying directives from the National Council by making inappropriate public comments.
Additionally, the party has ordered the immediate suspension of all informal groupings of current or former party executives and government appointees who have been engaging with presidential hopefuls in contravention of party rules.
The statement called on all members to respect party structures, foster internal cohesion, and align publicly with decisions taken by the leadership.
