General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua has criticized the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for failing to present evidence of their alleged electoral discrepancies, despite having several opportunities to do so.

He argued that the NDC has not substantiated their claims and seems to lack any further accusations.

Mr. Frimpong Kodua emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and stability as key stakeholders in the upcoming December 7 elections.

Speaking at the Inter-Party Advisory Committee meeting on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, he recalled how some groups were previously encouraged to protest against the Electoral Commission (EC) over alleged attempts to rig the election in favor of the NPP. However, stakeholders had advised the NDC to hold a press conference and publicly present their concerns if they had legitimate evidence.

As of now, the NDC has yet to provide the EC with the supposed discrepancies, a point Kodua highlighted while urging the opposition to submit any evidence they have for proper investigation.

He also dismissed the NDC’s call for a forensic audit of the voters register, aligning with the view of the All People’s Congress (APC) presidential candidate, who considered the request unnecessary without concrete proof.

Frimpong Kodua further emphasized that Ghanaians are looking for solid data, not unsubstantiated allegations. He called on the EC to release the revised voters register following its recent cleanup, so that all stakeholders can review it. He urged the EC to fulfill its promise of providing the updated register and reiterated the need for peace ahead of the elections.
