Roads Minister, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has announced that Maripoma Limited, the contractor working on the stalled Ofankor-Nsawam highway project, will return to site in about three days to resume work.

According to him, this follows fruitful discussions over the weekend after the contractor abandoned the site due to a 45 million dollar debt owed the company.

Addressing the media on Wednesday, April 2, Mr. Agbodza acknowledged the frustrations of residents and commuters who have been enduring poor road conditions along the critical corridor.

He noted that discussions with the contractor had yielded positive results and the contractor would mobilise to the site and begin work immediately.

The Minister emphasised that the government understands the challenges faced by road users, highlighting the importance of the route to many in the area.

He assured residents and commuters that the government is fully aware of the situation and that relief is on the way.

As part of the new plan, he confirmed that Maripoma Limited has agreed to return to the site and resume work without further delay.

He expressed confidence that the contractor would start re-mobilising immediately, with visible progress expected within three days.

Mr. Agbodza further indicated that the contractor is now fully committed to completing the project, stressing its significance as a critical infrastructure development for the area.
