One-district-one-factory hits Ashaiman municipality

The president’s policy of One-district –one factory will soon take shape in the Ashaiman municipality of the Greater Accra Region to create jobs for the youth in the area.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Ashaiman Municipal Assembly, Boakye Okyere made this announcement on the Happy FM’s Epa Hoa Daben’ as part of the maiden outdoor programme to bring the show closer to listeners in the Ashaiman municipality.
According to the MCE, plans are far advanced to roll out the project in the area to create jobs for the teeming youth of Ashaiman.
He said the project is to be established with a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement to ensure prudent management of the factory in the municipality.
He said the needed proposals have been submitted to the One-District –One Factory implementation office for scrutiny.
He further commended the management IDA in the area for releasing the parcel land for the establishment of the factory in the area.
He said aside this; plans are also in the pipeline for a Czech Republican company to establish a bio -Diesel company in the area.
He said the company will turn the huge tons of garbage generated in the area into fuel for powering machines in the area.
According to him, when the factory is established the youth in the area will be given the first option of employment to help solve the unemployment problems in the municipality.
