The family of the late Joseph Ade Coker, former Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has announced the date for his one-week observance.
The ceremony is set for Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Asoredan in Dansoman, commencing at 7 a.m.
Mr. Coker passed away on May 31, 2025, at the Bank Hospital, following a short illness. Affectionately known as Chairman Coker, he was celebrated for his vocal stance on national issues and his unwavering dedication to the NDC’s grassroots.
Elected in 2009, he led the region’s NDC chapter through three consecutive terms until 2022, when he was succeeded by former Adentan MP Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore.
His political journey earned him widespread admiration, marking him as a prominent figure in Ghana’s democratic landscape.
The upcoming memorial event is expected to bring together party faithful, friends, and loved ones to honour a man whose influence extended far beyond politics.
