The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has formally requested the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) to cancel the Red Notice previously issued for Samuel Adam Foster, also known as Samuel Adam Mahama, regarding his alleged involvement in the Airbus bribery scandal.

A Red Notice is an international alert issued by INTERPOL to locate and temporarily detain an individual pending extradition or legal proceedings. In this case, Samuel Adam Mahama, brother of former President John Mahama, was subject to a Red Notice for allegedly receiving a bribe from Airbus to exert influence on public officials and expedite a business deal.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Thursday, August 8, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng announced that the decision to withdraw the Red Notice was made after a thorough investigation found no evidence of bribery or corruption against Adam Mahama, his brother, former President John Mahama, and their business associates.

Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng announced today that his office has concluded its investigation into the alleged bribery of senior Ghanaian officials by Airbus SE, via intermediaries, related to the sale of military aircraft to Ghana between 2009 and 2015, and has decided to close the case due to insufficient evidence.
