The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has warned that former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta will be re-listed on the wanted list if he does not present himself for questioning on June 2.

This warning follows a lawsuit filed by Yaw Ofori-Atta, who is challenging the OSP’s earlier decision to classify Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta as a fugitive from justice.

Acknowledging the legal action, the OSP in a statement on Monday, March 17, clarified that it had removed Mr. Ofori-Atta’s name from the wanted list as an act of goodwill after receiving a formal request from him.

Ofori-Atta had assured the OSP that he would be available for questioning on a specific date.

Based on this commitment, the OSP noted it agreed to his request and temporarily removed his name from the list, pending his appearance.

However, the OSP has emphasized that he must report in person on June 2, 2025.

“Mr. Ofori-Atta is mandatorily required to appear in person before the OSP on June 2, 2025.
If Mr. Ofori-Atta fails to attend the OSP on the scheduled date, he shall be re-entered on the OSP’s list of wanted persons and the OSP shall consider him a fugitive from justice; whereupon the OSP will cause the issuance of an Interpol Red Notice in his regard and also cause the initiation of extradition proceedings in any jurisdiction in which he may be found,” part of the statement read.

Reaffirming its dedication to upholding the law and ensuring accountability, the OSP stressed that Ofori-Atta remains the main suspect in five ongoing investigations related to corruption and financial misconduct.
