The Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Mrs. Abena Osei-Asare, has cautioned Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) against postponing their scheduled appearances before the Committee.
According to the Atiwa East legislator, the Committee is working within a tight schedule and is expected to conclude its hearings between October 27 and November 7, 2025, ahead of the presentation of the National Budget to Parliament.
Mrs. Osei-Asare emphasized that any deferments could disrupt the Committee’s timetable and delay the timely scrutiny of the Auditor-General’s reports.
She also called on the Auditor-General’s Department to provide the Committee with updates on recoveries made from auditees, specifically identifying institutions that have rectified audit infractions and those that have not.
This, she said, would enable the Committee to take the necessary legal and administrative actions.
She reiterated the Committee’s commitment to ensuring accountability and transparency in the management of public funds.
The Committee is scheduled to resume sitting on Monday, November 3, 2025, to examine the 2024 Auditor-General’s Report covering the Ministry of Education, the Bank of Ghana, the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), and other key institutions.
