Parliament resume today, Tuesday June 11 for second meeting of the fourth session after recess.

Speaker Alban Bagbin suddenly adjourned Parliament on March 20, 2024, after Presidency warned against passing Anti-Gay Bill to President for approval.

On May 3, 2024, the Majority Caucus submitted a petition to the Speaker, requesting an emergency reconvening of Parliament to tackle pressing government matters and urgent business.

This includes the consideration of the Appointments Committee’s Thirty-Fourth Report and a motion seeking approval for additional funding, both of which require urgent attention from the House.

In a surprise move, a letter from the Speaker’s Office has summoned Members of Parliament back from recess, directing them to report to the Chamber for a sudden resumption of proceedings today.
