Paul Anomah-Kordieh crowned EMY’s ‘Man of Courage’

e.TV Ghana’s Paul Anomah Kordieh, was named
‘Man of Courage’ at 2019 Edition of Exclusive Men of the Year (EMY) Awards held on Saturday at the plush Kempinski Hotel in Accra.

The EMY’s ‘Man of Courage award is accorded to a man who despite his physical disability, has had great impact on society as a change maker and a trailblazer in his own right, among many other things.
Paul who is also the Executive Director for National Resource Centre for Children with Disability (NRCCD) has mentored, and inspired a lot of persons living with disability in Ghana.

Paul who over the years has stood tall among his peers because of his exemplary pursuit of broadcast journalism despite being visually impaired which would have ordinarily been a barrier to realizing his passion for broadcasting believes that persons living with disability should be given the requisite resources to enable them excell in their chosen field of endevours.

Paul in his acceptance speech said ‘’To be a man of courage you have to pass through the hands of some men of courage, I am grateful to my father Mr. Anthony Anomah-Kordieh who took care of and educated me. I am also grateful to Mr. Edward Boateng Ghana’s Ambassador to China and Mr. Ernest Boateng the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Global Media Alliance (GMA) Mother Company of e.TV Ghana. I entreat other men to be courageous and help persons living with disabilities.’’

He expressed his profound gratitude to the EMY board of patrons to have found him worthy to receive the prestigious EMY Africa’s ‘Man of Courage’ award.

The EMY Africa Awards is an annual Father’s Day-related event that celebrates personalities who have contributed their quota to change, progress and continue to be symbols of stability and role models in the community.

Other winners on the night included, the Chief Imam Dr. Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu who was crowned with a Life Time Achievement award, as the Veteran Administration of Ghana was honoured with the Men’s Group of the Year award and the British High Commissioner to Ghana, Ian Walker who annexed the inaugural EMY’s Commonwealth Development Award.

The CEO of Special Ice Company, Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong annexed the Ultimate Man of the Year award with the outstanding Woman of the Year going to Madam Patricia Poku, the CEO of Plot Enterprise Group in Ivory Coast and Ghana which is a cocoa processing company.
