A tragic incident unfolded in Sefwi Tanoso Praso, located in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region, where an 18-year-old apprentice hairdresser, Susana Asiedu, was brutally attacked by her father over a dispute concerning her pregnancy.

Susana was visiting a friend when her father, 45-year-old farmer Kwabena Asiedu, confronted her.

He accused her of being five months pregnant while still undergoing her apprenticeship. When she admitted to the pregnancy, their conversation quickly turned into a heated argument.

According to reports, the situation escalated as Asiedu pulled out a kitchen knife and pursued his daughter into her friend’s room, where he stabbed her multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Susana lost consciousness from the injuries and was rushed to the Bibiani Government Hospital by a local unit committee member.

Isaac Kyei Asante, the Unit Committee Member for the Sefwi Tanoso Praso Electoral Area, expressed his shock over the incident and voiced concern about the rising cases of domestic violence in the community.

He confirmed that the suspect had been arrested and placed in police custody as investigations proceed.

Authorities have assured the public that appropriate legal action will be taken against Asiedu.
