The Ghana Police Service has successfully apprehended some individuals suspected of partaking in a shooting incident that occurred during the Assin North by-election in the Assin North Constituency.
Members and officials of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) complained about the incidents that preceded the shooting and told reporters that the shootings were attempts of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to scare voters away from nearing the polling station. The NPP however, denied these assertions.
The Ghana Police Service, a few hours after the shooting episodes issued a statement which said several suspects believed to be involved in the shooting have been picked up for questioning and as aid for the further investigation.
