The Ghana Police Service has assured the public of comprehensive security arrangements for a peaceful and incident-free Eid-ul-Fitr celebration across the Accra Region.
In a statement issued by the Accra Regional Police Command and signed by Superintendent Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the region indicated that sufficient police personnel have been deployed to strategic locations, including mosques, Eid prayer grounds, major roads, markets, transport terminals, and other public places to safeguard lives and property.
It further noted that special traffic management teams have been assigned to regulate vehicular movement before, during, and after the prayers and festivities.
The measure is expected to ease congestion and promote road safety, while patrol teams intensify visibility policing within communities to deter crime and ensure swift response to emergencies.
The Command urged the public to remain security-conscious, cooperate with deployed personnel, and promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station. Motorists and pedestrians were also advised to comply with traffic regulations to ensure a safe and orderly celebration.
The statement extended best wishes to Muslims and the general public for a peaceful and joyous Eid-ul-Fitr celebration.
