Police Ladies FC etched their name into the history books with a stunning 2-0 win over defending champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies to lift their first-ever Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League title at the University of Ghana Sports stadium.

Jane Ayieyam opened the scoring in the 27th minute, latching onto a beautiful team move and slotting home with the calmness of a seasoned forward. That goal sent their bench and fans into a frenzy—and planted seeds of doubt in the minds of the reigning queens, Ampem Darkoa, who were chasing a historic third straight league title.

But it wasn’t just the attack that impressed. Police Ladies were resolute at the back, with goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan pulling off timely saves to frustrate Ampem Darkoa’s forward line and keep their title hopes alive.

Then came the moment that sealed it. With just a minute to play, substitute Victoria Teye Williams pounced on a late opportunity to score the second, sending waves of celebration across the stadium. The final whistle brought with it tears—of joy, of relief, of dreams finally realized.

This victory isn’t just a trophy win. It’s the rise of a new force in Ghanaian women’s football. From underdogs to champions, Police Ladies have written their own fairytale—and earned the right to represent Ghana on the continental stage at the upcoming CAF Women’s Champions League.
