A police officer stationed at Duayaw-Nkwanta in the Tano North Municipality of the Ahafo Region has died after allegedly shooting himself while on duty.
The officer, identified as Sergeant Brown, was reportedly found at the charge office under circumstances that have left the community in shock.
According to local sources, the 40-year-old officer was married and a father of two.
The Ahafo Regional Police Command has launched investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Meanwhile, the body has been deposited at the St. John of God Hospital in Duayaw-Nkwanta for preservation and autopsy.
