In a collaborative meeting at the Accra Regional Police Headquarters on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, police officials and protest organizers discussed the planned #DumsorMustStop demonstration, focusing on finding a venue that ensures public safety and minimizes disruption to public order.

In addition to exploring an alternative venue, the organisers of the #DumsorMustStop protest were also asked to reconsider the timing of the event, currently scheduled for Saturday, May 25, 2024, to ensure a safer and more orderly experience for all participants.

The Accra Regional Police Command has expressed concerns about the initial plan to hold the #DumsorMustStop protest at Revolution Square, due to its close proximity to the Jubilee House, a designated security zone and the seat of government.
The police are seeking an alternative venue to ensure public safety and maintain security protocols.

The #DumsorMustStop protest organisers are yet to respond to the Accra Regional Police Command’s request to change the venue and timing of the upcoming demonstration.
