President John Dramani Mahama has welcomed Zimbabwean leader Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa to Ghana for a three-day state visit from April 1 to April 3, 2026.
President Mnangagwa arrived in Accra to a ceremonial reception with full military honours, marking the start of engagements aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Ghana and Zimbabwe.
The visit will feature a series of high-level activities, including a state banquet in honour of the Zimbabwean president, a private meeting between the two leaders, and expanded bilateral discussions involving their delegations.
Key areas of focus during the talks will include trade, tourism, agriculture, healthcare, and sanitation, alongside collaborative efforts to address corruption and unemployment.
Both leaders are also expected to witness the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding to deepen cooperation between the two countries.
As part of his itinerary, President Mnangagwa will tour the Sweden Ghana Medical Centre and the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant to assess Ghana’s progress in healthcare delivery and waste management.
He will also visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park to lay a wreath at the tomb of Ghana’s founding president, Kwame Nkrumah.
The visit underscores the longstanding ties between Ghana and Zimbabwe, as both nations seek to strengthen cooperation towards sustainable development.
