The Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, in collaboration with the Office of the President and the National Democratic Congress, has formed a seven-member committee to vet candidates for Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).
The committee includes Johnson Asiedu Nketia, National Chairman of the NDC and six other distinguished members.
Their responsibilities include vetting candidates’ CVs, conducting interviews, performing background checks, selecting the most suitable candidates, and making recommendations to the President.
The committee is expected to submit its report by March 7, 2025.
The committee members are:
