A Former Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Peter Mac Manu, has called on the Electoral Commission to resume the re-collation immediately constituencies that had their collation process stalled.

According to him, the NDC used a crude strategy to disrupt the collation of the constituency results.

‘’The NPP has, with great concern, taken notice of the NDC’s crude strategy of sending their party hoodlums to disrupt ongoing collation of parliamentary election results in constituencies that they know they have lost. The modus operandi of these hoodlums, with the consent of the NDC leadership, is to visit the collation centres and undertake the following lawless acts”, Mr. Mac Manu disclosed during a press held earlier today at the party’s headquarters in Accra.

Speaking during a press conference on Monday December 16, 2024, he mentioned that, the NPP independent collation revealed that, the party won in Dome-Kwabenya, Ahafo Ano North, Ahafo Ano South West, Obuasi East, Techiman South, Nsawam/Adoagyiri, Aowin, Ablekuma North, Tema Central, Fanteakwa North , Techiman South and Okaikwei Central seats.

He noted that, the NPP noticed that, the NDC’s cruel strategy included destruction of all Pink Sheets and ballot boxes and other electoral materials as well as threatened and beat up electoral officers and party representatives who dared to challenge the said hoodlums.

Mr. Mac Manu called the Elections Security Taskforce Team to provide adequate security to facilitate a peaceful collation.

“We (the NPP) implore the National Election Security Taskforce to provide adequate security to facilitate peaceful collation under a serene environment. We are also calling on the NDC leadership to rein in on their supporters”, Mr. Mac Manu requested the EC and the Ghana Police Service.
