The 15th Edition of the Happy FM Mass Wedding took place on the 14th of February 2021 at the Prisons Interdenominational Church inside Cantoments.

According Rev Nyansa Boakwa who happened to be one of the counselors to the couples and the main MC of the event, “This 2021 Mass Wedding was not easy at all because, this was the first time Happy FM organized a Mass Wedding and had restrictions to the extent that we had only two people seated on the long bench in church”.

He explained that prior to the President’s ban on social gatherings, the event was supposed to come off at the National Theatre and even at some point, they had plans of canceling the event because they did not want to go against the President’s instructions.

Explaining how impressed he was about the turn out of things despite the strict COVID-19 protocols, he told Kwabena Boafo on Happy 98.9 FM’s NsemPii, “The invites we took out were over 700 and we weren’t expecting less than 1500 people at the event but again per the respect we have for our President we had to drastically cut down the number so we fit into the church”.

He furthered that even the couples were limited to inviting 5 family members each for both of them but still the event managed to be a success like it has been throughout the years.

He ended by urging couples who have plans of getting married to get ready to join the 2022 Happy FM Mass wedding because it is the most affordable and simplest way to get married without spending too much.

The event was successful and proudly sponsored by Akosombo Textiles Limited (ATL), Erata Hotel, Second Image Academy, Anointed Lady, J’s Cake and Floral Institute, Kasapreko, Adwene Clothings and media partners Citi FM, Y FM and etv. Ghana.
