Perception Management International (PMI), a strategic communications consultancy under the Global Media Alliance (GMA) Group, has honoured Ruth Tetteh as its Employee of the Year for 2025, celebrating an exceptional journey of growth, resilience and professional reinvention.
Ruth’s story at PMI began in November 2022, when she joined the organisation through the National Service Scheme (NSS). Her work ethic and creative flair quickly set her apart, earning her a full-time appointment as a Copywriter in November 2023, her first formal contract with the company.
Never one to remain confined to familiar ground, Ruth took on a new challenge midway through 2024, when she began understudying in the Business Development (BD) Department. Balancing creative responsibilities with the demands of a commercially driven role, she embraced the learning curve with determination. Her efforts did not go unnoticed, as she received a Special Mention Award at the end of the year for her contribution and adaptability.
The experience paved the way for a full transition into the Business Development Department in 2025. Within just a year, Ruth navigated the pressures of targets, deadlines and client engagement, steadily growing into the role. That bold step ultimately culminated in her being named PMI Employee of the Year, a recognition of both performance and potential within the GMA ecosystem.
Reflecting on her journey in a LinkedIn post, Ruth described the transition as challenging but deeply rewarding.
“Staying in your comfort zone feels safe and completely void of any risks, but you risk losing the opportunity to grow, learn and gather experience beyond what you already know,” she wrote.
She likened the experience to a “Gold Moment”,a refining process that strengthened her leadership, communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills, despite moments of self-doubt along the way.
Ruth was quick to acknowledge the role of mentorship and teamwork in her success, expressing gratitude to PMI’s leadership and colleagues for their guidance and support.
“Becoming Employee of the Year wouldn’t have been possible without my bosses and my colleagues. I’m grateful for the numerous opportunities and guidance,” she noted.
An alumna of Aburi Girls Senior High School and the University of Ghana, Ruth graduated with a Second Class Upper Division, bringing academic discipline and curiosity into her professional life at PMI.
As PMI continues to deliver strategic communications solutions under the Global Media Alliance (GMA) umbrella, Ruth Tetteh’s journey stands as a testament to the power of stepping beyond comfort zones and embracing growth.
“I’ve gathered a lot of experience, skills and knowledge working with Perception Management International—and I’m still learning,” she added. “We’re just getting started.”
