The Administrator of the Ghana Sports Fund, Dr. David Kofi Wuaku, has urged students and young people to embrace entrepreneurship with the mindset of solving problems in society rather than pursuing money.

Speaking as the guest speaker at the official launch of the Studentpreneurship & Enterprise Development (SEED) Clubs by the Basil David Anthony Foundation at Adukrom Akuapem in the Eastern Region on Tuesday, May 26, Dr. Wuaku said true entrepreneurship begins with identifying problems and creating solutions that impact communities positively.

He revealed that, entrepreneurship is the ability to transform ideas into creative ventures that provide solutions and create wealth for society.

“Every good entrepreneur does not focus on money first. They focus on how to make an impact, create something new and bring solutions to their community,” he stated.

Dr. Wuaku noted that many people wrongly associate entrepreneurship with already successful businessmen, stressing that every individual has the potential to contribute meaningfully to society through innovation and creativity.

He said God has placed unique abilities in every person to continue the process of development on earth, adding that many of the things used in everyday life were created by people who chose to think differently and act on their ideas.

Sharing his personal journey, Dr. Wuaku recounted how he dreamt of working at the Bank of Ghana while growing up in the village despite discouragement from colleagues who doubted his ambition.

He revealed that he eventually worked with the Bank of Ghana for 20 years before venturing into other fields, which later led to his appointment by the President Mahama to serve at the Ghana Sports Fund.

Dr. Wuaku encouraged the students to develop a positive mindset and remain forward-looking, explaining that entrepreneurship starts with believing in one’s vision and continuously seeking ways to improve society.

He further advised the students not to be driven solely by immediate financial gains but rather by the desire to make lasting impact through innovation and service to humanity.
