Seven armed robbers are on the run after staging a daring robbery at Gomoa Potsin in the Central Region.

The robbers blocked the Kasoa-Winneba highway around 11:00 PM last night, firing several warning shots before attacking travelers. They made away with over 1.7 million CFA, an undisclosed amount in Ghana cedis, mobile phones, and expensive jewelry.

The incident occurred near an area where road construction is ongoing. Residents say the robbers are taking advantage of the poor road condition to target unsuspecting drivers and passengers.

A resident, Ebo Anderson, told Happy Kaseɛbɔ that the robbers returned around 2:00 AM after their initial attack.

Ebo Anderson is calling on the Central Regional Minister, the MP for Gomoa East, and security agencies to intensify patrols and boost security in the area.

He revealed that the highway has recorded more than five robbery attacks in just two months.
