Head of Public Affairs at the Ghana Police Service ACP Kwasi Ofori has disclosed that the police have not received any new buses to support its initiative of providing shuttles for police personnel.

Rather, the management of the police is utilizing available resources to make this initiative a success.

He made this known during an interview with Samuel Eshun on the Happy Morning Show when he stated: “We have not received any new buses but management is at work. Because this is very important to the IGP, management is at work. We looked at the resources we have and realized that we could get these buses within to help to convey the personnel from their place of abode to work and back.”

Speaking on the sustainability of this project, the ACP was confident that with the “thorough analysis conducted and the calibre of personnel” involved in this decision, the project will be a lasting one.

The Ghana Police Service has introduced shuttle services for its personnel across the country.

The move is to facilitate the movement of personnel from their residence to their duty points.

The program which has been implemented in fifteen (15) out of the eighteen (18) Police Operational Regions is intended to ease the burden of commute on officers, as well as to ensure that personnel who carry weapons for duty, do so under safe conditions.

It is also expected to give some respite to officers and further boost their morale for enhanced performance.
