Singapore’s President Tharman Shanmugaratnam has lauded President John Dramani Mahama’s leadership, calling his administration “a strong start” despite inheriting major challenges.
“I know you inherited very difficult challenges, but you are off to a very strong start. I have confidence in your government,”.
The visit marked a renewed commitment to Ghana–Singapore relations, with both nations signing two key bilateral agreements aimed at boosting trade, investment, and diplomatic cooperation.
Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and GIPC CEO Simon Madjie signed the MoUs, witnessed by both presidents.
The agreements, between the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre and Singapore Cooperation Enterprise, and between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs are expected to lay the groundwork for expanded collaboration across sectors.
