Director for Creative Arts at the National Commission On Culture (NCC), Mr. Socrate Sarfo has made revelations about his final days as an active creative in the industry.

The esteemed film maker spoke at the Return Conversations event which was held at the Accra International Conference Centre, where he broke the news of his preparations to wrap up on his legendary career.

Socrate as a panelist at the Return Conversations, paired up his early days in the creative industry with his views regarding the impact of film in bringing the African continent together and hinted that he is currently working on his last movie titled Tumtum.

The prominent Ghallywood figure mentioned that ‘Tumtum’ was his first ever movie which was set to be premiered but was aborted following a turn of events “I am currently working on my last movie; It was supposed to be my first ever movie but I could not do it then, so I would have to do it as my last.”

Socrate Sarfo commenced announcements regarding Tumtum as not just his final movie but also marks his exit from the creative scene in 2021. Socrate, at the time posted a short message on Facebook about the movie which he tagged as his last kiss and gift to Africa. “Over thirty years of romance with scripts, cameras, screens; I finally “bow out” with #Tumtum ; the story that ignited my quest to make Movies as my Kiss and and a Gift To Africa; Its a wrap!”

The Return Conversations was hosted by Ghana Tourism Authority and Beyond The Return under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture. It focused on the role of music and film play in uniting the African continent. The event was coupled with the exhibition of rich Ghanaian culture and detailed accounts of the creative arts industry in strategic dialogue.
