"Some irate Aduana Stars fans have threatened to KILL me" – Coach Yusif Abubakar

Aduana Stars coach Yusif Abubakar has disclosed that some section of the team’s supporters have threatened to gun him down if he does not resign from the club following their 3-3 draw with Raja Casablanca in the CAF Confederation Cup competition on Wednesday.
The Fire Boys commenced their CAF Confederation Cup campaign on a disappointing fashion after losing 1-0 to Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas in the opening fixture of the competition.
The Ghana Premier League champions needed to get their stuttering campaign back on track when they welcomed three-time Africa champions Raja Casablanca to the Dormaa Nana Agyemang Badu II Park.
However, Aduana faltered again as they were held to a 3-3 draw by the Moroccan giants – which has left the team languishing at the bottom of the standings with just one point.
In the aftermath of the game, reports emerged that some of their teeming fans cast blame on the team’s gaffer Yusif Abubakar for their woes – with some threatening to kill him if he does not vacate his position as head coach.
Speaking to Ohene Bampoe-Brenya on Happy FM‘s Anopa Bosuo Sports, Coach Yusif Abubakar revealed how some of the club’s fans threatened to lynch him if he continues staying at the club.
“Some Aduana Stars supporters are threatening to kill me because we drew with Raja because they lost their bets,” Abubakar revealed on Happy FM.
“They stopped myself and players when were going to the dressing room during the first half that we should dare not lose the match because they’ve bet on win for Aduana but I thought it was a mere saying.”
“Yesterday I went to the central mosque to pray and two supporters physically attacked me. They ordered me to leave the town in the next 24 hours else they will do something bad to me. Fortunately I was not hurt but a gentleman who came to my rescue was punched in the process. I’ve reported the case to the Police Station.”
“Aduana Stars officials are fully aware of these threats. I am very concerned and worried about the threats on my players because whether they were two supporters or not, a threat is a threat, however, the police promised to arrest them this dawn.”
“Insha Allah, nothing will happen to me and my family in Dormaa and I believe management of Aduana Stars will handle the matter.”
“It’s unfortunately we drew but the boys were determined to win and they played well. We don’t know what will happen when we go for the away matches.”
