Leading real estate developer, SuCasa Properties Limited, has hosted a maiden real estate sales opportunity conference in Accra with a call on young people to develop interests in the construction value chain.

The conference, on the theme, “Real Estates Sales, Solution to Youth Unemployment”, according to SuCasa, was organized to expose young people to opportunities in the construction value chain.

The event also opened the discourse on real estate sales through the framework of the Real Estate Agency Act, 2020 (Act, 1047).

Speaking at the conference, SuCasa’s CEO, Mr Michael O’grantson-Agyapong said youth unemployment can be solved if pragmatic methods are adopted, as the real sector has many employable prospects for young people.

He emphasized that the youth must be passionate about research in areas that would never be exhausted in opportunities.

“The real estate and housing sector have opportunities that must interest young people in the value chain. You just have to find what you can do in the chain and take it up as business” he said.

Mr O’grantson indicated opportunities in the value chain for young people include design, painting, interior decoration, digital marketing among several other prospects.

Chief of Staff of SuCAsa, Isaac Preko said the company has been as the forefront of providing affordable housing to the Ghanaian public and making sure that quality remains the hallmark of SuCasa.

He said the company, which started as a small real estate entity had to expand its operations along the years, to solve the growing housing deficit issues to build affordable homes in several communities in the capital.

“Our way of solving the growing housing deficit challenge has been the rollout of the O’grantson communities across the country, where we have completed 90 percent of the first community which has 17 homes, second community having about 55 homes with 70 percent completion, as well as the upcoming Ayi Mensah development of 80 units.” Mr Preko disclosed.

The Executive Secretary of the Ghana Real Estate Developers Association (GREDA), Mr Samuel Amegayibor, who graced the event, commended SuCasa for engaging the youth in such a high profile conference and offering them the opportunity to develop interests in the sector.

“The value chain in real estate is so huge. Young people can trade in materials needed in the sector, or acquire soft skills that are required including marketing and sales” he said.

Mr Amegayibor encouraged SuCasa to continually make housing affordable for the average Ghanaian.
