The Member of Parliament for Sunyani West, Millicent Yeboah Amankwaa, has assured residents of Timba Nkwanta of the construction of a well-equipped Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound, complete with nurses’ accommodation and a reliable water supply, to enhance healthcare delivery in the area.
Speaking at a sod-cutting ceremony to mark the commencement of the project, the MP stressed that the health and wellbeing of her constituents remain a top priority.
She reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring that the people of Timba Nkwanta, as well as the wider Sunyani West constituency, have access to quality healthcare facilities.
Ms Amankwaa explained that providing adequate accommodation and essential logistics for health workers would encourage nurses and other medical staff to stay within the community and respond promptly to patients’ needs.
According to her, the availability of nurses’ accommodation would prevent situations where health personnel leave the facility due to long distances to their homes, especially when patients require urgent care.
She noted that having resident health workers would ensure round-the-clock medical attention for patients, ultimately leading to improved healthcare services in the community.
