A Gas station Owner, Martin Okyere believed to be in his fifties has been shot dead by two suspected armed robbers at Akotsi in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
The incident happened in the early hours of Thursday, November 28, 2024.
The deceased who is popularly known as Italian burger had been operating the Gas station for 11 years being the only gas station that serving Akotsi and its neighbouring communities.
Richmond Agyei, who witnessed the incident explained that he rushed quickly to the gas station after he heard several gunshots.
Upon arrival at the Gas station, he discovered that, the owner of the station was in a pool of blood and the robbers were seen searching the room of the deceased.
“I nearly lost my life when I tried saving the daughter of the deceased. One of the robber’s attempted to shoot me”. he said.
After saving the daughter, I managed to enter a nearby bush and found my way into the Akotsi township, he narrated.
Sister of the deceased, Lucas Esi called on the Ghana Police service to investigate the matter and bring the perpetrators to book.
