Minister of Roads and Highways, Francis Asenso Boakye has assured that, the newly commissioned Obetsebi Lamptey interchange will eliminate traffic and reduce unnecessary stop overs by drivers.

According to him, by upgrading the roundabout to a three tier interchange, one of the country’s transport pressing challenges with traffic issues has been solved.

‘’By upgrading the roundabout to a three tier interchange, we have addressed one of the most challenging traffic issues in our nation’s capital Accra’’.

Speaking during the commissioning of the Obetsebi Lamptey Circle interchange Phase II, he emphasized the total transformation the interchange has brought, highlighting the improvement of urban mobility and road sustainability as one of such transformations.

‘’This project is a testament to the government’s continuous commitment to improving urban mobility and transforming the lives of Ghanaians through effective and sustainable road infrastructure’’.

‘’The Obetsebi Lamptey circle has long been plagued by severe congestions with adverse delays exceeding 10 minutes during peak periods. This congestion compounded by the high speed approach of vehicle from the Kwame Nkrumah interchange has created significant challenges for commuters and businesses alike’’.

He added that, “this project represents a pivotal step to enhancing urban mobility, reducing travel time and boosting productivity on major roads in our urban centers”.
