The Story of Jojo Noodles

After travelling across continents and tasting flavours from around the world, the journey that mattered most was the one that led back home.

For a fourth-generation Lebanese Ghanaian, returning was about reconnecting with the warmth of African hospitality, the rhythm of the streets, the spice of everyday meals, and the culture that shaped generations of family life. Despite seeing the world, Africa remained home with its people, its energy, and its food.

In Ghana, food is never just food. It is a reason to gather, a reason to talk, a reason to laugh between bites and fan your mouth when the spice hits just right. Meals are shared in busy kitchens, on street corners, and at late-night hangouts. Food creates moments. And moments create memories.

This love for food and culture inspired the birth of JOJO Noodles, while the noodles reflect global inspiration, the spice, heat, and boldness reflect the soul of African taste. Because Ghanaians love flavour and the excitement that comes from food.

Being more than a meal, JOJO represents a bridge between cultures, blending international influence with local taste, and turning a simple bowl of noodles into a gathering point for joy. Having a brother born on Monday, where it is tradition that they are named based on the day of the week they are born, the name JOJO was chosen as a tribute to family, heritage, and cultural identity. It feels familiar, warm, and rooted in Ghanaian life, while carrying a personal story of return and reconnection.

This story first met the public at the Blend Festival, a night that celebrated music, culture, and community. From the first beat to the last bite, the festival reflected a modern Ghana — creative, united, and proudly rooted in its cultural identity. At the heart of the night was an electrifying performance by the Lioness of Africa, Wiyaala, whose powerful sound and cultural storytelling captured the same spirit that inspired JOJO.

It was within this atmosphere of rhythm and meaning that JOJO Noodles made its first public appearance. Positioned not just as a food brand but as a cultural expression, JOJO stepped into the festival as part of the story itself, offering flavours inspired by Ghanaian food cultures while blending youthful energy and identity into a single experience.

With the help of Mr. Rabih Kaade, JOJO Noodles made its first appearance at the Blend Festival, a symbolic presence indeed – a meeting point between sound and flavour, rhythm and spice, tradition and modern creativity. As Wiyaala’s music carried ancestral memory into contemporary sound, JOJO Noodles carried Ghanaian authenticity into a fresh, modern dining experience.

True to its spirit, JOJO was never meant to stay in one place. Inspired by street food cultures around the world and African food traditions at home, the brand was designed to move. Rather than waiting for people to come to it, JOJO brings food to where life is happening – busy streets, university campuses, festivals, nightlife hubs, and community gatherings.

At its heart, JOJO is for everyday Ghanaians – students, young professionals, night owls, creatives, families, and anyone who wants food that is comforting, exciting, and full of life. It is for those who enjoy spice and warmth. For those who appreciate global influence but still want something rooted in home. And most of all, it is for people who believe food should bring us together.

Behind this vision is Sasha Shahin, the CEO of JOJO Noodles whose love for food began at home, surrounded by family meals, shared recipes, and kitchen experiments with loved ones. Guided by family influence, mentorship, and cultural pride, JOJO became not just a business, but a way to celebrate the many cultures that coexist within Ghana.

Through a single bowl of noodles, the brand seeks to bring together different flavours, traditions, and stories, reflecting the unity found in Ghana’s diversity.

JOJO Noodles is built on the belief that food can be a bridge between cultures, a shared language that invites people to sit, eat, and belong.

With its bold personality, colourful identity, and commitment to movement and connection, JOJO Noodles is not just serving noodles. It is serving culture, energy, and community — one location at a time.
