On this day 10 May 1998 (Exactly 21 years ago) Former Ghanaian long distance runner, Frederick Adongo ran 3000m National Record of 8:41.83 in Marieta, United States.

On this day 10 May 2002 (Exactly 17 years ago) Joseph Agbeko TKOs Sabin Marius Bornei of Romania in round 6 at Britania Hotel, Milwall, London, United Kingdom for World Boxing Federation (WBF) World Bantamweight title.

On this day 10 May 1978 (Exactly 41 years ago) Liverpool FC won the 22nd
European Champion Clubs’ Cup (now Champions League) after beating Club Brugge 1 – 0 at Wembley, London. Kenny Dalglish scored the only goal of the match in the 64th minute.

On this day 10 May 1989 (Exactly 30 years ago) FC Barcelona won the 29th edition of the European Cup Winner’s Cup beating Sampdoria of Italy 2 -0 at the Wankdorp Stadium in Bern, Germany.

On this day 10 May 1995 (Exactly 24 years ago) Real Zaragoza of Spain won the 35th European Cup Winner’s Cup against Arsenal of England 2-1 in Paris

The first half was goalless. In the second half, Real Zaragoza’s Juan Esnáider opened the scoring, before John Hartson scored Arsenal’s equaliser. The game went into extra time and looked to be heading to a penalty shoot-out. However, with seconds remaining, former Tottenham midfielder, Nayim, scored a last-minute goal with a 40-yard lob over Arsenal goalkeeper, David Seaman, securing the win for Real Zaragoza
