Traders in Dormaa East and Central in the Bono region are urging government to address the underlying issues of the economy, particularly by reducing inflation.

They believe this will help lower the prices of food and other commodities in the market.

According to some traders, the cost of food items and other goods, which were once affordable, have significantly increased over the years.

They say this rise in prices is causing their businesses to collapse as customers can no longer purchase in the quantities they used to.

They noted that the prices of food items such as onions, groundnuts, and beans have skyrocketed. What they could previously afford in four bags, they now struggle to purchase even a single bag to sell.

The traders are appealing to the government to take a decisive action to improve the country’s economic conditions, with a focus on lowering the exchange rate and inflation to alleviate the hardships faced by Ghanaians.
