Tribute to Sir John’s family and party by NPP China Branch

The New Patriotic Party, China Branch read and heard with shock the passing away of the NPP former general secretary and CEO of Forestry Commission Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie popularly known as Sir John. The demise of such a gallant, committed, loyal and affable leader of our great party saddens the heart of party executives and members. NPP China Branch is in a state of mourning and grief. We have lost a father and a trusted leader who we love.

I, the Chairman of NPP China Branch on behalf of the branch executives and party members in China send our heartfelt condolence to the family of Sir John, his wife and children. Our condolence goes to the national executives and party leadership where Sir John once served as general secretary. To our teeming supporters globally and locally, we say let us pray for God’s peace and place for Sir John. A place in the bosom of Abraham where he can rest.

To recall, the NPP China branch was officially inaugurated in a gracious and colorful ceremony by Sir John in 2011. To the Branch in China, Sir John was our father and mentor. His words of blessings and encouragement have made NPP China branch the biggest branch of our party in Asia. As we observe the death of Sir John, we remember his advice to the branch executives on the day of inauguration, that we should work selflessly and diligently to bring the party to power.  Today NPP is in power and our joy is that Sir John, witnessed this victory aside the challenges of 2012. You have served your party and country. Your appointment in President Akufo Addo’s government as the CEO of Forestry Commission is an indication of your competence and hard work. We are satisfied with your service and leadership. NPP China Branch will forever remember you.

Your in-depth knowledge in the Bible reminds us of your faith in Christ and we pray that God will give you a peaceful and eternal rest. Our consolation comes from the Holy Bible the book of Revelation 20:6, KJV: “Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.”

Damirifa due! Sir John
