The Member of Parliament for Trobu, Gloria Owusu, has extended support to commercial drivers in her constituency by distributing free fuel and food items to help ease the financial burden of the Christmas festivities.
In a statement shared on Thursday, December 25, Gloria Owusu said the initiative was aimed at appreciating the dedication and sacrifice of commercial drivers, who she noted play a critical role in ensuring the safe movement of residents, often under challenging working conditions and long hours.
According to her, the gesture was a way of giving back to the drivers for their continuous service to the community, particularly during the busy festive season when transportation demands increase.
She further noted that the gesture was meant to appreciate the drivers for their dedication and support during the 2024 elections, which contributed to her victory.
Ms. Owusu expressed gratitude to the drivers who participated in the initiative as well as individuals who supported the exercise to make it successful.
She further wished residents of Trobu and Ghanaians at large peace, safety and prosperity as they celebrate Christmas with their families.
