U-20 AFCON: Ghana's Black Satellites to know group opponents today

Ghana’s Black Satellites will discover their group opponents when the draw for the CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations is held in Cairo, Egypt, on Thursday February 13, 2025.

The draw, which will determine the group-stage matchups for the prestigious youth tournament, will be broadcast live on CAF TV at 14h25 local time (12h25 GMT).

Former Malian international Adama Coulibaly and Senegalese legend Souleymane Camara will assist in conducting the draw.

The tournament, set to run from 26 April to 18 May 2025, will feature 13 teams, all vying for the title and a coveted spot at the 2025 FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Chile.

The top four nations from the tournament will secure qualifications for the global event.

Hosts Cote d’Ivoire automatically takes position A1 in Group A, which will consist of five teams, while Groups B and C will each have four teams.

Defending champions Senegal will take position C1, while Nigeria, the 2023 third-place finishers, will occupy B1.

The draw will be conducted using five pots, ensuring a fair and competitive group-stage lineup.

With young African talents ready to shine, the tournament promises thrilling action, fierce rivalries, and a glimpse into the future stars of African football.

The tournament will see 13 teams compete from 26 April to 18 May, 2025, with the top four nations qualifying for the 2025 FIFA Under-20 World Cup to be staged in Chile from 27 September-19 October, 2025.
