Ghana’s Black Meteors have progressed to the semi-final of the ongoing U-23 Africa Cup of Nations after defeating Mali 2-0 in the final group game.

Ghana qualified at the expense of Cameroon despite leveled on the same points.

Kwabena Owusu after a series of horrific performances in the first two games against Cameroon and Mali climbed off the bench to score a brace for the Black Meteors against Mali in the final group game.

Cameroon on the other hand lost to host Egypt by 2-1 at the Cairo International Stadium.

The Black Meteors qualified ahead of Cameroon on the away goal rules.

Ghana will face the winner of Group B in the semi-finals.

Three teams represent Africa in next summer Olympic Games to be staged in Tokyo.
