U-Turn: We accept police DNA report – Ruth Abeka Family
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

The family of one of the four Takoradi girls confirmed dead by the police following the outcome of DNA results has made a sudden u-turn about their earlier stance amidst heaping accusations on the police.

The family led by the deceased mother earlier joined families of the three Takoradi missing girls rejecting the DNA report by the police.

The families described the DNA results confirming the death of the girls as rubbish.

A spokesperson for the families, Michael Hayford Acquah, who went berserk over the results and confirmation by the Acting Inspector General of Police that the missing girls were dead, is demanding the immediate resignation of CID boss, Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, the Interior Minister Ambrose Dery and the National Security Minister.

According to him, the families will not accept the confirmation following some disclosures they had with the CID boss some time ago.

However, family of Ruth Abeka led by his uncle Emmanuel Kwamena Baiden, has made a sudden u-turn stating that they now accept the DNA report by the police since they cannot be in a battle with the police.

”We accept the police report; we cannot challenge them. they’re the experts and so if they say the bones found are our children, what else can we do,” he told Accra based Radio Okay Fm monitored by Ghanacrusader.com.

According to him, they do not have the strength and time to demand for second DNA test even though the results are very heart-wrenching, they leave everything in the hands of God as there is nothing much they can do.

Meanwhile, there are allegations that Ruth Abeka was an adopted child.

The girls — Priscilla Blessing Bentum, 21, Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie, 18; Ruth Love Quayson 18, and Ruth Abeka – were victims of a kidnapping and murdering syndicate in the Takoradi area, police have said

The Acting Inspector of General of Police, James Oppong Boanuh, said at a press conference Monday that the results of the DNA test on remains retrieved in Takoradi have been relayed to the families along with condolences.
