US Presidential elections: Trump and Harris make final pitches to voters

As the 2024 US presidential race nears its conclusion, both Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump made their final appeals to voters on November 4, with a focus on key battleground states.

Harris energized crowds in Pennsylvania, emphasizing the urgency of voter turnout, particularly in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, where she implored, “No one can sit on the sidelines.” She also held multiple rallies across the Midwest, highlighting themes of unity and democracy.

Trump, meanwhile, held rallies in Pennsylvania, where he celebrated the state’s significance, calling it “a great place,” and further energized his base in cities like Raleigh and Pittsburgh, aiming to galvanize support by underscoring his plans to revitalize the economy and address border security.

Credible news sources indicate that the electorate is divided down the middle, both nationally and in the seven battleground states expected to decide the winner on Tuesday, although the closeness of the contest means it could take days for a winner to emerge.

Polls from Reuters, have shown that Harris and Trump are running ‘neck and neck’ nationally and in the battleground states which are Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, Arizona, Nevada and North Carolina. About 77 million voters have already cast ballots, leaving the next two days to unveil the next president of the United States of America – what stands now as a critical test of whether Vice President Harris’ or former President Trump’s campaign does the better job of driving supporters to the polls.
