The Young People Guilders (YPG) of the Victory Presbyterian Church, Kwashiebu has donated assorted relief items to the Rising Star Orphanage Home at Dodowa in the Eastern Region.
Presenting the items, Anhtoinette Ohene Atitse (Mrs.), President of the YPG said, with support from elders of the church, they mobilized the items to improve the lives of the little orphans.

Some of the items included boxes of drinks, cartoons of milk, tins of Milo, sugar, biscuits, Lactogen, some boxes of indomie, bags of sachet water and gallon of oil.
Others are bag of gari, beans, two bags of maize, two bags bucket of detergent, boxes of bathing and washing soap.

Speaking about the exercise Antoinette Ohene Atitse said YPG embarked on the donation exercise to fulfil a biblical obligation
‘’We are presenting our widows mite to you today with encouragement from the church which teaches them to care for orphans and widows’’ she stated.

Receiving the items on the behalf of the children, Madam Victory Sampson, founder of the orphanage expresses her profound gratitude to the YPG for their kind gesture.
‘’ We are grateful to for your kind gesture, but we have overcrowding situation here at the Rising Star Orphanage and this makes it difficult to accept more vulnerable children to the orphanage home, and currently about 55 of the children sleep in an old room built in 1824’’ she revealed.

She also appealed to government, corporate bodies and philanthropists to support them with housing facilities.
