Stephen Appiah’s dream of becoming a manager is gradually taking shape after undergoing knowledge-sharing experience at English Premier League side West Ham United.
Having hanged up his boots six years ago, the 37-year-old harbours the desire to become a manager, with his ultimate dream being to one day take charge of the Black Stars.
The former Juventus midfielder, who is a brand ambassador for sports betting firm, Betway Ghana, dream of taking over the dug-out inched closer to becoming reality after spending a week at West Ham to help him learn about coaching at the highest level.
He observed both the first team and the academy and spoke to several leading figures at the club, including Mark Noble, Patrice Evra and Joe Hart, as well as coaches Terry Westley and Jack Collison and head of medical services Gary Lewin.
Appiah starred for the Black Stars in two successive World Cups in 2006 and 2010.
Appiah, who is the team manager of the Black Stars, is currently in Japan with the team as they prepare for the upcoming friendly encounter against the Blue Samurai.
