Sports pundit and coach Christopher Nimley has launched a scathing attack on Ghana’s Minister of Sports and Recreation , Kofi Adams, describing him as “a big disappointment” for his handling of national football matters.
Speaking on Happy Sports, Nimley accused the minister of disobeying President John Dramani Mahama by failing to release the budget for the Black Stars, despite Mahama’s February 27, 2025 State of the Nation pledge that the team’s expenses would be made public.
He also alleged that Adams and GFA President Kurt Okraku, are yet to provide financial accountability for the team’s participation in the Unity Cup, which took place in London from May 27–31, 2025.
“The man(Kofi Adams) has been a big disappointment. He has disobeyed the president of Ghana by not releasing the budget to the Black Stars. He is with Kurt Okraku; they took the Black Stars to the Unity Cup and haven’t rendered any accounts,” Nimley stated.
These comments add to the growing public debate surrounding transparency and funding of Ghana’s football activities, particularly following the recent alleged government-backed sponsorship deal for the Ghana Premier League.
