Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vodafone Ghana, Patricia Obo-Nai has received two separate awards for her contribution towards national development, and also for her strong advocacy for women in Science Technology Engineering and Maths (STEM).

Patricia, who is a celebrated Engineer, was honored at the STEM Woman Project for her passion and leadership in empowering women in STEM. She also received an award for her outstanding contribution to the social and economic development of the country at the 2020 Ghana Women of Excellence Awards.

Commenting, Patricia Obo-Nai, CEO Vodafone Ghana said:

‘’I am deeply honored to receive these awards. It is truly humbling to receive recognition for one of my passions, which is about driving female’s participation in STEM. Indeed, Ghana will make immeasurable strides in economic growth and development if we are able to close the gender gap and empower the next generation of female scientists. I would like to use this opportunity to call on other females to help push this agenda.’’

Patricia Obo-Nai has been very instrumental in empowering young girls in STEM through mentoring, coaching and by sharing her career experience with the youth at various workshops and conferences. Her passion for increased female participation in STEM is driven through advocacy for policies that promote STEM education and ultimately employment for females.

Patricia is also an Advisory Council member of the West Africa STEM, an organization, which empowers students through life-changing STEM experiences.
