The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has confirmed receipt of an additional GH₵35 million from the Ministry of Education to support the processing of the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for school candidates.

WAEC in a statement issued on Friday December 27, revealed that funds, received on December 25, will be used to scan objective answer sheets and speed up the completion of results processing. The Council aims to release the results by the end of December and is working diligently to meet this target.

It has also appealed to the Ministry to settle outstanding debts to ensure payment of supervisors, invigilators, script checkers, and suppliers of examination materials. Despite facing financial challenges, WAEC has assured stakeholders of its commitment to fulfilling its responsibilities and extended seasonal greetings to all.
